What determines our future?
I say Jules Vernes predicted the 20th century in the technological aspect with the most notorious human achivements, space travel and to be honest we suck very much at it.
Deep sea travel, it sucks balls to, but he said it first.
We can travel around the world.
Futurists are, as I like to see it, "Pre-cog philosophers".
They try to construct a long-term or short-term vision of the future for personal gain or to discover patterns in the life-span of society.
Jules Vernes was a futurist, and with science fiction he predicted the future, or was it his life work that inspire the colective consciousness that made believe we were capable of doing this things.
So, if science fiction has indeed inspired a century, Are we destined to live the work of fiction of futurists sci-fi writers?

Are we the writers of future generations in a literal way?
